Buddha Palm

During this course, we will develop the ability to attract and project energy with our hands. We will learn to use this energy on ourselves through a qi gong sequence we call the Buddha Palm. We are then ready to practice self-massage for healing and energising our body. This can be practised either standing or sitting.

Model of a human head and upper body with traditional Chinese acupuncture points marked with red and blue lines and labels.

Traditional Chinese medicine describes 12 ordinary meridians in the human body that connect organs to different parts of the body. It also describes 8 extraordinary meridians:

Du Mai, Ren Mai, Chong Mai, Da Mai , Yin & Yang Qiao Mai, Yin & Yang Wei Mai

All these extraordinary meridians are energy reservoirs that regulate the energy in all the ordinary meridians.

By opening the circulation in these meridians and filling them with qi, the ancient Taoists believed that it regulated the entire body and enabled one to take care of one's mental and physical health.

We will therefore learn this exercise to fill our extraordinary meridians with qi and improve internal circulation.

Taoist Self-Massage

(Organ self-massage and Chi self-massage)

Simple techniques that can be used every day to free the energy circulation throughout the body, stomach, face, and joints.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, all diseases stem from a blockage in the flow of energy and/or blood.

The main areas where energy is blocked are:

Person receiving a massage on their abdomen from a massage therapist.

The internal organs

People performing a foot massage or reflexology session indoors with large windows showing outdoor scenery. One person is lying down while others assist and observe.

The joints

When blocked in the internal organs, it causes digestive, respiratory, and emotional problems.

We will look at self-massage techniques to free the internal organs and joints yourself in order to:

Regulate peristalsis

Experience physical and emotional lightness

We will learn important self-massage techniques for our own well-being

Open to all. No experience required.
